Editing Projects

WriterStats allows you to set and edit project data and metadata, such as a project's wordcount, image, link, genre, status and description!

note

All editing commands below modify your active project by default. You can set your active project using the /project set active command, or provide a different project name using the project_name field! If you'd like to write without a project, use /project no_active.

Renaming a Project

Unlike other metadata, renaming a project is accomplished using the /project set name command. Simply enter the new name of your project to complete the process.

A project's metadata can be modified using the /project set commands. View more info on this metadata and the appropriate commands to modify them below.

Project Wordcount

A project's wordcount is used to keep track of your project goal (Detailed on the goals page), and is updated as you write in sessions.

You can set your project's wordcount using the /project set count command.

Project Goal

You can set your project goal using the /project set goal command. Your progress for your project goal can be seen on its project information embed!

Project Goal

You can set the deadline for your project goal using the /project set deadline command. Your progress for your project deadline can be seen on its project information embed!

Project Description

A project's description is shown on its information embed and on the project list. This can have a maximum length of 500 characters.

You can set a project's description using the /project set description command, and by typing out your project's description in the modal that follows.

Status & Genre

You can set a project's status and genre to better classify it. The /project list command allows you to sort by these fields, making them a useful organisational tool.

You can set a project's status or genre using the /project set status and /project set genre commands.

A project's link and image are displayed on the its information embed, allowing for users to navigate to a certain page related to your project and view a related image.

You can set a project's link or image using the /project set link and /project set image commands. Provide a valid URL in order to ensure your project's link/image are displayed.

Resetting Project Metadata

You can reset a specific piece of project metadata using the /project reset command, and picking the type of data you wish to clear.
