WriterStats Projects

WriterStats allows you to create and manage your writing projects, providing you with the ability to write in each of them and individually view your statistics for them.

note

All users have an "active project", which is the default for your writing sessions and other project-related commands. You can set your active project using the /project set active command. Type in and select the project you wish to switch to from the list that pops up to switch your active project!

Creating a Project

You can create a project using the /project create command, typing in the name of your project to finish setup! Newly created projects are automatically set as your active project for your convenience.

warning

There is a limit on the number of projects you can have!

This is currently a 100 projects for non-patrons and 200 projects for patrons.

Deleting a Project

You can delete a project using the /project delete command. Type in and select the project you wish to delete from the list, and click on the "Confirm" button to complete the process.

danger

This action is irreversible.

Viewing a Project

You can view a project's embed using the /project view command! This defaults to showing your active project, but another project can be specified using the project_name field.

tip

There are several options you can set to add metadata to your project! See more about this on the Editing Projects page!

Viewing a list of your projects

You can view a list of your projects using the /project list command. There are various options you can choose from to filter and sort the projects shown, detailed below:

  • genre: Optional. The genre you wish to filter by.
  • status: Optional. The status you wish to filter by.
  • tag_name: Optional. The name of the tag you wish to filter by.
  • sort_by: Optional. How you'd like the list to be sorted. Defaults to A - Z.

Writing without a project

If you wish to write outside of a project, you can do so by removing your active project with the /project none command. This allows all your future sessions to be written outside of a project, for your smaller projects or other writing you don't wish to track.

If you wish to switch back to writing in a project, you can set your active project using /project set active!
